finals...

I took my first final today and did alright. I have another one tomorrow and then two on Monday. I know I'm supposed to be happy to be going home, but I must admit that I like it here. I can't wait to go home, but I don't think I'm ready yet.

A few of my favorite things...

best buds in vegashanging out at the hockey game
playing at the pool right before spence cleared us out with his bowel movement
feeding warren on my vegas trip
the day i went back after thanksgiving
the day i went back to school after christmas
I wanted to post a picture of me with each of my nieces and nephews...they are in order of age because I don't have favorites although I am their favorite. I'm kidding, but these kids are beautiful and they are so blessed to be in these wonderful family just as we are so blessed to have each one of them.

Birthday!

Thanks for calling and wishing me happy birthday! I have the best family in the world and I am so thankful to be a part of it. You are all such good examples, even Kyle, to me. Thanks for being amazing people and wonderful siblings.
I didn't do anything too wild for my birthday. I did get free ice cream at Coldstone's so I encourage you to all join the birthday club--you get a "Love It" size! My friends posted signs all over the floor and gave me balloons and a present and then last night as the "finale" to my birthday they sang the "Happy Birthday Lisa" song from the Simpsons (I love that song) to me, but changed the words. All in all it was a great day!
P.S. I'll be back in Bakersfield 2 weeks from today! I should leave here Tuesday or Wednesday and then stop off in Vegas for a night to visit then I'll trek on home.

Friends

I thought I should introduce you to my close friends up here at school. This picture is at Gateway in Salt Lake. In it is Camie, Nicole, and Amy. The four of us will be living in an apartment south of campus next year.

The picture in the shopping cart has Nicole, Roxanne, and Amy. We were at the dollar theater being wild.
Amy has been a long time friend, but I have had the great privilege of getting to know her even better and love her even more.
Camie and Nicole are roommates directly across the hall from my room. We started our relationship through notes passed under the door and have become great friends. They are from Layton and I have been lucky enough to stay at their houses. They may not seem wild, but you'll have to see what a couple hours with me, Amy, and Roxanne will do for them.
Roxanne is my roommate. She is pretty great. She puts up with me and we have a pretty good time. I'm sad she won't be living with me next year, but we'll invite her over for Sunday dinner.
Just thought you might all want to see the people I am always talking about. Camie and Nicole might visit this summer so you might get the privilege of meeting them in person.

Life as of late

Let's see...Peter and Kyle were here, I visited the Favero's, watched movies...Life is good. Zach's family was here for conference and to visit family and friends. I went out to dinner with them for Zach's dad's birthday on Monday then on Tuesday his 2 oldest sisters, Rachel and Hannah, came over and stayed with me. It was fun, but I hope they weren't expecting more from college life because I am pretty lame. It isn't too exciting here at BYU, but it works for me. From the picture, I'm sure you can tell I was playing with flour. We had a flour war for FHE and (not that anyone was keeping score) I won because I used a sock so it hurt when I got someone. Everyone else just threw tissues full of flour. They were too lazy to put it into a sock. My face looked a lot worse, but I had to clean my face off because this kid threw a handful right in my eyes after we had said game over. Whatever, I forgive him, but I am still finding floury goop in my eyes. Besides regular reading and going to class and finals...I only have one paper, but it is kicking my butt. I hope you all enjoyed conference--Saturday morning session was my favorite. It seemed like everything I had prayed to hear was said in the first song and talk and then soon after came the things I didn't realize I needed to hear so badly. I'll be done for sure 3 weeks from today! I can't wait to see everyone.

I LOVE THE LIBRARY!

Okay so all year I have avoided the library because it is boring and way too quiet, but times have changed. Friday I spent 4 hours in there studying for my physical science test and today I spent a grand total of 7 hours. WOW! I can't even believe it. Anyway, I was studying for printing a lot today and then my class is in the library and then after swimming I went back to work on my research paper. This is my first real one in college--so far I have only done opinion papers and I wrote an 8 page paper for anthropology using a book I read. Now for the reason I love the library. Amy has Freshmen English and they go to the library to learn stuff and today they learned how to use the bibliography generator. It is amazing. You save all the books, etc. you find and the computer makes your bibliography. I am way too excited about this, but it is cool. I also asked a reference lady how to look up periodicals so I am pro now. That's all for now. I think I did great on my printing test though. Love you all.

Crap...

Sorry I've been slacking. I just realized how little time is left in school. You would think I would be ecstatic (which I was at first), but I realized how many deadlines and tests I have before the end. Anyway, I am trying to get ahead with some things, but I have 2 tests this week and a paper I need to work on. College is fun, but never ending.
I'm a little sad that I won't be with everyone for General Conference, but I might go to Layton again unless Peter wants to do something with me.
My life is more boring than ever lately--Saturday I went to a Mary Kay party. I think I'm too young and cool for that kind of stuff, but a girl on my floor sells it now so I went for her. I put away all my winter clothes. I'm trying to think of other random things that have been happening. A little girl peed on me in Adaptive Aquatics last week. My friends and I made doo rags out of t-shirts last Saturday and tried to teach Nicole how to dance. Wild, I know. I love all the pictures everyone has been posting. I show everyone. Talk to you soon. Love, Stacie.
P.S. Mom, Dad, Kyle, Tyler, and Steph need to get on top of it. Maybe Katy can help Tyler.
